Sep 1, 2024 Venue News

The Embassy Theatre team and the wider Magna Vitae family are delighted to announce that work on phase one of the Culture House construction project will commence in September 2024.

Extensive renovations are due to take place between September 2024 and March 2025 with a host of activity scheduled to take place to both the exterior and interior of the venue. This will include:

  • Enhanced backstage access and facilities.
  • Brand new lower floor extension.
  • Revamped main entrance.
  • Replacement auditorium seating.
  • Installation of a changing places area.
  • New lower foyer bar and seating.
  • Installation of a new customer lift.

We are hugely excited to see the work begin and hope you are looking forward to your next visit. The venue will continue to provide you with the high quality entertainment you love whilst the build progresses. We appreciate your understanding and co-operation whilst we work with our construction team, architects and project partners to enhance our wonderful venue for future generations.

Throughout the build, we ask all of our patrons to enter the venue via the main entrance on Grand Parade. The ramp adjacent to the log flume and the lower bar/car park level entrance will be unavailable. A ramp for access via Grand Parade will be accessible via Compass Gardens. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused however we thank you for your understanding. We have worked hard to ensure that any issues are kept to a minimum. Please note that we do have a lift to all areas of the venue.

Access to the car park at the rear of the Embassy Theatre will remain un-altered however throughout the course of the building project, the number of spaces available will be reduced. Alternative parking is available at the Festival Car Park. Whilst the building work is underway, access to the two vehicle charging points will be unavailable. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Please keep in touch with our team via social media and of course, do visit the website for further updates. We are so excited to be working with our partners on this project and thank all of them for their hard work and dedication. The long term, sustainable future of this venue has been secured, preserving the Embassy Experience for future generations.

Our heartfelt thanks to:
