Susan is a miserable, bad tempered old witch who doesn’t like company. She lives in a nest, flies around scaring people and eats biscuits! The last thing she wants in her life is a giant egg…should she have it for breakfast or hatch it? And what will she do once it hatches?

A genuine family show with something for everyone. One performer and a flock of shadow puppets tell us an engaging and heartwarming story about companionship and flying the nest. with laughter and maybe even a few tears… It’s the story of a lonely old witch who finds an egg which takes her on an adventure that changes her life forever told with humour, audience engagement and shadow puppetry.

A simple set up and beautiful visuals means this show works anywhere (with a reasonable blackout) and will delight and entertain everyone from ages 3-103 but works really well for 3-9 year olds! A specially commissioned soundtrack adds subtlety and emotion to the performance creating a fully rounded audio-visual experience. Not only does the show actively engage the audience but there is an opportunity afterwards for the audience to try their hand at some shadow puppetry in a simple, open-ended Stay & Play session. There will also be ‘Shadow Puppet Kits’ for sale that people can buy to take away.

A relaxed and joyful story full of heartfelt emotion and raucous good humour that can be enjoyed by anyone.
