A new season brings you a brand new National Theatre Live season courtesy of Stage to Screen.
We have three stunning titles from the National Theatre coming up this spring. The season commences on Thursday 17th February at 7:00pm with Philip Pullman’s The Book of Dust. Set twelve years before the epic His Dark Materials trilogy, this gripping adaptation revisits Philip Pullman’s fantastical world in which waters are rising and storms are brewing.
Two young people and their dæmons, with everything at stake, find themselves at the centre of a terrifying manhunt. In their care is a tiny child called Lyra Belacqua, and in that child lies the fate of the future. As the waters rise around them, powerful adversaries conspire for mastery of Dust: salvation to some, the source of infinite corruption to others. Eighteen years after his ground breaking production of His Dark Materials at the National Theatre, director Nicholas Hytner returns to Pullman’s parallel universe. Broadcast live from London’s Bridge Theatre.
We are also screening Tom Stoppard’s stunning Leopoldstadt on Thursday 17th March followed by a new production of Henry V starring Kit Harington from Game of Thrones. This screening takes place on Thursday 21st April. This brand new season is a hugely exciting addition to our line up and we can’t wait to see you here for them. We hope you enjoy immersing yourself in these marvellous productions.
