May 7, 2021 Venue News

Dear friends,

Hello and finally, welcome back to the Embassy Theatre in Skegness. We really can’t wait to again throw open our doors and welcome you back to a packed summer season of live entertainment here on our stage, but before restrictions on capacity lift we look forward to starting our season with a very new offering from Stage to Screen – followed by three live performed pilot shows also in Covid secure and socially distanced format. This May half term too, we bring you films for a fiver. We’ll be showing some of the biggest new movie titles for the whole family here on the big screen! During term time, Saturday mornings start at 10:30am with a junior movie club and Wednesday matinées are reserved for the “classics”.

In June this year, our comeback series of capacity restricted and Covid secure LIVE events include a great line-up of some of the best UK stand-up comedians with Comedy Hotspot on Friday June 11th and for all you “fangelas” out there, an evening of silliness and sleuthing on Friday 18th June with Solve-Along-A Murder She Wrote. Curious? You should be!

On Saturday 26th June we bring you “Comeback Cabaret – Return To Live“! This will be our first produced live music show to return with full band and featured vocal performers singing everything from Motown to Musicals. With tickets at just £15, we hope you will come and support one of these live pilot events as performers, staff and crew all anxiously take their first step back into the spotlight after the longest interval anyone might have imagined.

Now although we are delighted so many of you are already chomping at the bit to return we are also aware that some may choose to wait just a little longer which is why for “Comeback Cabaret“, we will also be live streaming via Facebook and YouTube free of charge for you to watch at home.

Re-opening after such a long time needs to be a gradual climb but opening night shouldn’t pass by uncelebrated and in honour of everyone who has given and also lost so much in recent months, so to start with something just a little bit special on the big screen is what we will do – and it doesn’t come much bigger than the amazing cast of 42nd Street, led by the inimitable Bonnie Langford, filmed at the Theatre Royal, on Drury Lane. Come and see these dancing feet, we can’t wait to welcome you here!
