We’ll have to do it again then won’t we… woo!

There’s a well known theatre tradition that even when the show can’t go on… it still must and this December, Magna Vitae Productions at the Embassy Theatre is doing just that!

An online recording (originally intended for archiving) of the 2019 pantomime adventure “Jack and the Beanstalk” is to be streamed into classrooms across the county to spread a little festive joy for students and teachers to remember their visit to the Embassy Theatre in all its glory.

“When the sad realization hit me that pantomime on stage was not going to be achievable this year, I became determined to provide a temporary alternative to the thousands of local children who would miss out on their Embassy trip this year” says Pollyanne, Embassy Theatre Manager and pantomime producer. “Having talked through what could be achieved remotely with local primary headteacher (David Hurdman, Burgh-Le-Marsh Primary School) it became clear that a classroom panto would fit the bill.” she added.

The recording will be accompanied by a range of added value assets for use in the classroom, including exclusive creative team videos and a copy of the full script to read along with, and jokes to try out in class. In the event that any class is required to isolate and be absent from school on the day they were due to join in, the classroom panto streaming link will also be made available to view from home to ensure no-part of the school misses out.

Magna Vitae Productions would like to extend its gratitude to the full cast, crew and creative team of Jack and the Beanstalk 2019 at the Embassy Theatre, who have given the project their full support although most have been unable to work in theatre this year and for whom a full return to performance is still very much unknown.

Classroom panto week runs from Friday 12th to Thursday 17th December and is available to schools who have previously seen pantomime live on stage at the Embassy Theatre, Skegness.
