Magna Vitae Productions are looking for a Wardrobe Supervisor to assist organising the costumes during our forthcoming pantomime “Jack and The Beanstalk”   at The Embassy Theatre, Skegness this December.

This person must be experienced in basic costume alterations, washing/maintaining and assisting the cast with any necessary costume changes.

The backstage Pantomime “family” at Christmas is a hardworking; fun environment to be in – the Wardrobe assistant is at the heart of this – the role will be paid out of pocket expenses for the term of the project and requires the individual to reside locally and to be available during the festive period; times and hours to be agreed.

We have a beautiful selection of premium costumes arriving from theatrical Costumier – Molly Limpets; all principal cast members will have their pieces sized to fit them but there may be special handling notes or items that may need further alteration – you will need to oversee the trying on of costumes and make good notes on what is required to discuss with Molly Limpets.
Junior cast members will be required to share sets of costumes; it is your responsibility (along with their chaperones) to ensure these remain onsite, complete and intact following every performance for the next team.

The role will include the following activities: –

  • Checking in and organising costumes on arrival
  • Adjusting costumes – whether from our own stock or hired, costumes aren’t always a perfect fit for the person wearing them, so a little taking in or letting out can be required.
  • Washing and maintaining costumes through the run
  • Retrieving, itemising, packing away and preparing for return at the end of the run

So, if you have experience in a similar role and skills to do some or all the above please get in touch for an informal chat with our production manager – Matt Oscroft  production@mvtlc.org

Rehearsals begin Dec 6th (Costumes arrive onsite Thursday 28th November).
Dress rehearsals start Dec 14th with shows Dec 16th – 28th.
