John McManus as Wicked Stepmother – Lady Tremaine.


Born in Edinburgh, John moved to London after winning the Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber scholarship to train at the Arts Educational Schools.

WestEnd credits include: Sweeney Todd (Adelphi Theatre) Scrooge (London Palladium) Cats (New London Theatre) West Side Story (Prince of Wales) Grease (Cambridge Theatre) When Pigs Fly (Arts Theatre) and Top Hat (Aldwych Theatre).

National tours of: Miss Saigon, Spamalot, Doctor Dolittle, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, My Fair Lady and Pageant the Musical.

Rep seasons at Dundee and Perth Rep, Chichester festival Theatre, Lincoln Theatre Royal and Windsor Theatre Royal in: The Slab Boys, a Midsummers Night’s Dream, Me and My Girl, Me Cousin Rachael, Sunshine on Leith, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Wind in the Willows, H.M.S. Pinafore, The Snow Queen, The Great Gatsby and The Magic Fishbone.

John is no stranger to pantomime having played in Jack and the Beanstalk (Kings Theatre, Edinburgh) Aladdin (Kenneth More Theatre, London) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Palace Theatre, Newark) Jack and the Beanstalk (Motherwell Theatre, Scotland) Dick Whittington (Windsor, Theatre Royal) and Mother Goose (Pavilion Theatre, Porthcawl).


I am very much looking forward to going to the ball this year here at The Embassy Theatre, Skegness where one of my two beautiful daughters is bound to snatch and wed that handsome Prince; and, if I get my way that ugly, useless wench Cinderella will be scrubbing kitchen floors from here to Eternity! Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha
